Thatโs so true. Writing things down helps release stress and clear the mind. Seeing it on paper makes it feel lighter and easier to understand.
Unless you forget where you wrote it down! Haha!
A few years ago I participated in an Akashic Records session, in which the message to me was: Write it down. I have always been a writer, but after my Mom passed away I just stopped writing things down, other than a work-related blog here and there. It took a couple years beyond that session to actually start writing things down. And now, the Notes app on my phone is full of musings, ideas, creative nuggets, entire programs I have created….Indeed, write it down. And then look at what you have written down…that’s your heart and soul ๐
I’m sorry to hear about your mom. Do you ever wish you had continued to write things down after your mom passed?
I’m glad the spark came back for you to take notes again and save nuggets of inspiration and muse.
I love your last sentence. That is so powerful and so true.
I go further ~ to “write it out”… For me, writing down an idea and filing it away for later kills it. The idea’s still there but much of the details and all of the urgency are lost, and I never write it up. I’ve learned whenever possible to drop everything and write the whole thing right now, as one would cook with fresh ingredients…
You make an excellent point. I’ve experienced the same thing. If I get an idea and only briefly write it down, I forget how to build upon it when I come back to it. Then the idea is only 10%. So just like you, when I get an idea, I write it out until there is nothing to pour out anymore. I like the way you phrase it, just like cooking with fresh ingredients.
I keep a notepad and a pen that lights up by my bed, so when I wake up in the middle of the night I can write down the great thought or the amazing dream or the forgotten must-do task before it melts away.

So very true! Thanks for the reminder!

Haha! My pleasure!

You’re exactly right. Thanks for sharing!

My pleasure! Are you a note taker?

100%
October 4, 2025 at 4:39 pm
I’m glad you agree!
July 28, 2025 at 8:39 pm
I feel seen. ๐
October 4, 2025 at 4:38 pm
Haha! I’m glad to hear that! Where do you keep your notes? On your phone or in a notebook?
October 4, 2025 at 7:25 pm
I have 2 notebooks, 2 diaries plus my phone. And a calendar. Also random scraps of paper and the back of my hands at a push. ๐
October 6, 2025 at 9:31 pm
Haha! Wow! I can relate to your note-taking habits! ๐
July 28, 2025 at 8:42 pm
SOOO true.
October 4, 2025 at 4:37 pm
Right!? How often do you write things down? Do you keep simple notes or a journal?
October 4, 2025 at 8:58 pm
I write a lot of things down because it’s much easier than cluttering up my mind trying to remember!
October 6, 2025 at 9:19 pm
That makes so much sense! We can only hold so many thoughts in our heads throughout the day, and tomorrow it starts all over again.
October 7, 2025 at 1:28 am
Plus I stress myself if I have to keep remembering. Writing it down releases the stress. Unless I forget where I wrote it down haha.

I think writing things makes me remember it longer. It’s so hard to forget. Then sometimes I might read it again
October 22, 2025 at 9:34 pm
That is so true! Because we have so many thoughts throughout the week and it becomes incredibly difficult to hold on to them.

A truer word was never spoken.
October 4, 2025 at 4:37 pm
Do you write things down often?
July 29, 2025 at 10:37 am
Yes indeed, I do it all the timeโฆand sometimes I send an e-mail to myself, so the reminder pops up every time I check my messages! ๐ค
October 8, 2025 at 6:01 pm
Now that is an interesting idea to try! This sounds incredibly useful!

Ooh, good idea!

I have sticky notes all over my apartment, literally. The amount of sticky notes is quite a lot, I’m probably keeping them in business, heh. =)

Haha! What do you usually write on them?
