Adventuring and exploring have always been a big part of my life. I’ve seen many breathtaking sunsets and vast landscapes, but nothing is more important than who you share those experiences with.
The things that bring me the most joy on trips are the most basic and simple things. Coffee in a tin cup. Bread with butter. Sharing stories with a stranger. These experiences tend to show themselves most when I’m in Namibia. A country far away from the busy city life. There’s less focus on materialistic things and more focus on community and caring for each other. It’s always heartwarming to experience their hospitality. They welcome you with open arms.
I always try to bring something I’ve learned back from that beautiful country. One of them is to enjoy the slow little moments every day.
We know how quickly life passes by. In the end, it will be the small and simple things we remember.

Thank you for that wisdom today. I read it while eating an olive, and decided to slow down and savor the taste. I tend to move fast in all indo, so remembering to notice people and simple pleasures is a good word for me

Thank you so much for your kind words! I’m so glad it meant something to you. It’s such a joy to share some of my thoughts and experiences and to hear how others, like yourself, resonate with it. It goes to show that we’re not really strangers. We’re all connected with each other in some shape or form. Have a wonderful day! <3

It’s not only what we ‘remember’ but I personally feel, it’s those simple things that bond us in comradeship and curiosity to ‘learn more’ about each other, too –

I’ve never heard of anyone at the end of their life, saying, “I just wish I had spent more time in the office.”

What I like about living in Hawaii is that even as a part of the US and modern society, a lot of people retain the slow pace and less importance on material things, there is a tension between the two, but it’s nice to see that that knowledge that humans are the treasure and materials are just materials for humans to use for things as needed doesn’t always get tarnished by modern-day access to technology. ๐ข

Wow, it sounds like you have truly embraced the spirit of Hawaii and its unique culture. It’s amazing to hear that despite being a part of the modern world, the people of Hawaii still hold onto their values and traditions, and prioritize what truly matters in life. It’s a beautiful reminder that we can live in harmony with technology and modern society while still cherishing the things that truly matter, like human relationships and experiences. I hope that this spirit continues to thrive in Hawaii for many years to come.
