It’s been over two years since I last shared a nature video with you. I haven’t stopped taking photos or videos, I’ve just not been sharing them as often as I used to. It feels good to be back, sharing these beautiful and peaceful moments with you again.
The seasons are shifting quite quickly here in South Africa. It’s my favourite time of the year. I love the cold and rainy season. It’s usually when I take the most photos. There’s just something about droplets resting on a leaf that looks incredibly beautiful. And the colours of nature, the leaves, the trees, everything, become so much richer and more alive to me.

I just sat, watching and soaking in the sound of rain falling, … natures a wonder, … you can gain so much from just absorbing the almost healing aspects of her bounty. 💫🌿💫

You’re absolutely right. Which is why, as soon as I noticed it starting, I thought now’s the time to make a short video and share it. It’s just so beautiful and calming to watch.
One of the things I love most about photography and making videos is that it forces you to appreciate what’s right in front of you, no matter what it is. I’m trying my absolute best to convey what I’m seeing and feeling. That’s a creative challenge. To dig deep within yourself and find a way to tell this very basic and simple story. I want the viewer to see something beautiful and go wow, but I also want them to feel something. That’s really important, because that feeling lasts and stays with you.

Lovely. It reminds me of the Calm app, so soothing.

I also use the Calm app every other day. They’ve got some incredible sounds on there. You’re right, rain can be so soothing to listen to and watch.

I’m so glad you enjoy it. It can be so mesmerising to stare at the rain. I can sit for hours just watching it. And the sound is so calming and beautiful.
Do you ever just lose track of time while listening to it?

Yes I love hearing it and many times I forget about the time and my pressure of my work and fall in the magic of the rain sound 🔮✨

I enjoy the sound of rain. And when it is a very misty rain, it’s fun to walk in
April 10, 2025 at 8:29 pm
That makes two of us. There’s something about misty rain that transforms the whole atmosphere—it adds a sense of mystery and depth, which makes it perfect for capturing photos.
