Thanks for asking
The community, in which, I am living is Punjab( a region in Pakistan).Punjab is the embodiment of life in Pakistan because it is the most populous province in the country. The Punjabi lifestyle and customs are highly rich that follow the culture that dates back to centuries. It is rich in literature, cuisines, arts, tradition, architecture, military warfare, and spoken languages
I share your beautiful pictures on my blog and invite my community to check you out! I love your work and what is says! My Mom always said, “ a picture is worth a thousand words”! Your pictures say so much on different vibrational levels! Keep seeking the depths of your gift!
Caroline, you might like to read “Tea, Scones, and Malaria” (see Amazon) by a friend of mine who was born in Zimbabwe (Southern Rhodesia, then). Amazon has a long review, by me, of this book, that you might like to see also.
I worked in Harare for the World Bank – my most startling vision (as one from the D.C. area) was a McDonald’s there, where all the customers were Black and all the servers, White. Stopped me cold. [Actually, the reverse situation, which was very common in the 60’s / 70’s, has now faded – most of the servers in D.C. now seem to be Hispanic.]
Thank you Terence. The book you mention sounds interesting. I will check it out. The words “tea and scones” grabbed my attention as I wrote a poem called “The Tombstone” in which I use these words. The published poem is about a woman called Bertha Knight. Her gravestone is in Barberton, South Africa. It is a hypothetical poem about her life in South Africa. I could never find out anything about this woman, other than the details on the gravestone. But what is intriguing is that she was from the United Kingdom and was killed by a lion, probably in an area which is an hour from where I currently live. I gave her life a story, so to speak. To this day I often still think of this poor woman.
It is amazing to see the world reflected in this conversation. I am so blessed to come from the rainbow of people represent my family. My Dad was originally from Annapolis, Maryland and was of African American, Irish and Cherokee descent. My Mom was from Jamaica and was of African, English, French, Cuban and German Jewish descent. I think when we recognize that we are one race the “human race”, and that we are connected on so many plains, we will begin to revive our humanity. It is a pleasure meeting each of you and thank you our “Wandering Ambivert” for providing the conversation and space to greet each other! You are righteously an opening for positive thoughts and actions!
I lost the thread of which country we’re talking about. Most enjoyable was Cote d’Ivoire, for the people. Most interesting, Zimbabwe. Again, for the people.
World Bank, wow, you guys aren’t really popular this side. I’m always learning about how your ESAPs took away most of the little priviledges the public had in the name of help but made it worse instead. What have you got to say about that view?😉
I guess the countries made permanent decisions based on temporary emotions. And yes , they have themselves to blame for the poor decisions. It’s never ceases to amaze me though, so many countries here (in Southern Africa) have the WB and the IMF as a “guardian” with all the power and advice.
I know we’re poor here , in many aspects but i think what we have (our cultures and traditions) are worth so much! I’d choose to be African if i ever had to choose.
I appreciate you guys for the work you do. I hope and believe that someday my continent shall stand on its own feet and repay all the debt we have. It’s a big dream , i know , but we’ll get there, little by little.
Born in Rhodesia, grew up in South Africa, spent time living in Mocambique, left to go to travelling to India – not made it there – YET, and danced back and forth between SA and UK, till now – in Scotland… Dreaming and building and visioning of “next?”. 😉 <3
Rumor has it I was shat on a stump and hatched by the sun. I was born in the Continental US to parents from Germany and Ireland, and raised between the US and Mexico. I have worked throughout South and Central America, Oceania, Australasia, West Africa, and SE Asia.
At present, I am Stateless and just keeping my head down until I can get something going to change that. Life is indeed interesting, and we do live in interesting times.
However, it has been my experience that it is not so important where we are from, as it is where we allow the journey of life to lead us, and what we leave in our tracks as we pass.
The photos are beautiful. Mother Nature displays her beauty every day and gives man the opportunity to enjoy her beauty. The sunsets, the trees, the oceans, the animals. etc… understand nature and conformed to her rules. Only man has problems with the rules and changes the rules to fit his needs. But when Mother Nature is ready, she takes back what rightly belongs to her.
I am a Mainer, living at the bottom of the state, rather than inland (the middle of the state) where I grew up. Maine is a pretty place, as are all places on earth. I am coastal now is all and connected to other states much sooner.
Hello, I am Virginia – hailing from Ticonderoga, New York. Now I live in the Mohawk Valley with my husband and teenage son. I enjoy my church, part-time work at the Olive Garden, writing, cooking and exploring the hidden gems along the way! God Bless
I am Doug, a pastor who grew up in Boston, attended the University of Maine in Orono, Bangor Seminary and, by the grace of God, started a church in Bangor, then moved to and pastored a church in Hartford, Wisconsin for 35 years where I live with my wife, Judy, in retirement, though I have written 5 books and have a daily blog. Thanks for asking.

Ooh , that’s awesome! What did you like most ?
September 9, 2021 at 7:44 pm
I lost the thread of which country we’re talking about. Most enjoyable was Cote d’Ivoire, for the people. Most interesting, Zimbabwe. Again, for the people.
September 9, 2021 at 10:29 pm
Zimbabwe is indeed an interesting one 😄😄
September 8, 2021 at 5:36 pm
World Bank, wow, you guys aren’t really popular this side. I’m always learning about how your ESAPs took away most of the little priviledges the public had in the name of help but made it worse instead. What have you got to say about that view?😉
September 9, 2021 at 7:41 pm
Some projects were done at the affected countries’ requests, all with their permission.
Some poor decisions were made.
September 9, 2021 at 10:41 pm
