DSLR if I’m honest but I can’t carry the weight anymore. I don’t like mobile phone pix as they often look fantastic on the phone but don’t enlarge satisfactorily. I prefer the smallest compact system camera (mirrorless) with good zoom.
I use my phone for convenience and as it is always with me, but only take a few shots at a time with it. However, when I go out for a real shoot I use my DSLR and take hundreds of shots in a couple of hours.
I use my phone, which right now is a Google Pixel 6 Pro. I would love to get into using a DSLR, but the price and learning curve intimidate me. I wouldn’t even know how to pick one.
I shot with DSLR for years but grew weary of lugging all of the gear around. Another thing was that sometimes in setting up for a shot, it would be lost before I was ready. My phone is always with me and almost immediately ready to shoot. I have a good quality tele lens and macro lens for my phone and these along with my iPhone 12 proβs built in features is all I need. I follow several phone photographers on IG and their image quality is superb.
May I dare say both? Yes, the DSLR is quite heavy comparing to the phone (but my husband is carrying that one, while I’m in charge of the mobile phone π).
I used to use my Canon DSLR ALL the time, and still do for long shots, like of the moon or of jets flying overhead, or if I ever go mountain hiking again. But the quality of my iPhone pics has improved so much since they added cameras back in 2007 offering a 2 mega pixel view with 163ppi. Now, even my basic iPhone 11 gets 12 megapixels at 326ppi, more than adequate for shooting in a room or closeups of my neighborhood or attempts at cooking.
Both. I use my phone for daily pictures like of food or things around my home. If I’m going out, I’ll take my Nikon with me. Though it’s a big heavy to lug around. I really should pick up a smaller one.
For classic car shows I tend to rely on my old Nikon D3200. Sometimes I use my Fuji FinePix S1500, also pretty old but it does some decent stuff. I rarely shoot very much of anything with my iPhone 7+ (again, I tend to keep equipment for a long time).
I’ve recently started using my DSLR and although my iphone takes pretty decent pictures, you can’t beat the ability to zoom in and still have a crystal clear image. As it is heavy, I think I’ll probably continue to use both however.

I always have my cell phone with me. These days, cell phones deliver some great photos.

Mobile phone when traveling light, DSLR if I have room for a little more weight. π

Only because I have a smartphone and regret not having a DSLR camera.

I’d say DSLR; it still has the edge on quality.
I use my phone solely out of everyday convenience; it’s always on hand.

I mostly use the mobile just because it’s always with me.
Recently I’ve taken to carrying an old Olympus Stylus 1 because the image quality, zoom and usability is better than my Sony Xperia phone.
I like to travel light and lugging the Fuji and an assortment of lenses is too much for a day hike.

I ask myself this all the time!

I think I will be saving for a new mobile phone. I love its convenient presence.

Typically iPhone and occasionally iPad Pro. Our gallery looks like a museum of old cameras no longer used.

If my DSLR were as small as my phone a lot of my phone calls would go unanswered π

Wish I could afford a DSLR but stuck using a mobile for all my photos.

iPhone to capture the quick moments, but DSLR for my hiking outings.

I think I’d always use my mobile for everyday photos, but have just purchased a Nikon DsLR and am looking forward to experimenting with it.

DSLR for sure especially to print pictures. Phone cameras are much improved, it gives much more freedom. DSLR is my personal choice.

That’s probably best. Both are great, depending on the situation and what you want to use them for. π
