Stay in it

Walter Mitty: When are you going to take it?

Sean O’Connell: Sometimes I don’t. If I like a moment, for me, personally, I don’t like to have the distraction of the camera…I just want to stay in it.

    1. You’re absolutely right! I’m going to give the same reply I just gave to ‘thedeepened’ because I think it applies to what you said.

I’d recommend taking in as much as possible from a special moment. Close your eyes and remember what it sounds like, what it smells like, what it feels like – the environment and within yourself, then open your eyes and remember what it looks like. And tell that story instead of showing a picture.

  1. Great quote, great movie. I grew up on the short story upon which the film is loosely based. Talk about living a life of risk. Too few of us take the time to still ourselves to just stay in a moment, with or without a camera. In a way, the camera phone has killed that in us. Thanks for posting!

    1. You’re right. The first thing we do when we see something beautiful like an animal or view is to pull out our phone to take a picture. Why not just leave the phone or camera? Just enjoy the moment. Take it in. Embrace it. Enjoy it. Look. Smell. Feel. Appreciate the moment.
